Thomas Frank spoke to us after Brentford beat Boreham Wood 2-0 in our first pre-season game of the 2022/23 campaign.

The Head Coach was happy with the match, praised Boreham Wood for making things competitive and looked ahead to our trip to Germany next week.

"It was very good to get 45 minutes into the main part of the squad," said Thomas. "We're satisfied with the fitness levels so far and the intensity. Offensively, there are definitely still some things we need to work on but it's early doors."

Thomas also took some time to address the squad used in the game, mentioning that Mathias Jensen and Frank Onyeka missed out with very minor injuries.

"I think we created a lot of chances, we should have scored more goals. It was nice to see Josh Dasilva on the scoreboard.

"It's nice to see Bryan Mbeumo scoring as well but for Josh, because he has been out for so long, it's good to see him score. I think a good pre-season for him will put him in a top position. We know he's a goal threat and we saw him score a nice goal. Both young goalkeepers did well, I think Matthew Cox made a top save when they were through one-on-one."
