Goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha arrived at our training camp on Friday night, a new signing formerly at Lazio, then got stuck into his first training session the following day.

We thought there was no better setting to grab him for his first chat as a Brentford player than sunset at Der Öschberghof, so we took him on a drive down to the training pitch to hear all about his first few hours as a Bee.

"It was an amazing first day, full of positive energy," he said. "The guys have been amazing with me from the start, they have made me feel immediately in a good mood."

Goalkeeper Coach Manu Sotelo spoke to us when Thomas first arrived at camp, describing him as an Italian-style keeper, so we asked our new man what Manu meant by that.

"I think the Italians are known for their goalkeepers. They make it easy for their keepers to perform at the highest level. It's the body language, the way you move between the goal posts is what he means.

"I think it's only slightly different to the way keepers move here, maybe the way they are coached. Everyone has their own talent, you can't really change too much about the key skills when you are 25 or 26 so you have to focus on your raw talent."

Thomas has always been a fan of England's top flight and wants to hit the ground running, mentioning his ambitions for the season to come.

"I'm really happy and excited because I've waited so many years to come play in the Premier League. For me, it's a dream come true. I am coming into an ambitious club, I want to give my best and achieve a better position than last year."
