Brentford FC has today launched its season ticket campaign and plans for the 2024/25 season.
Existing season ticket holders have until 5pm on Monday 22 April to renew for the upcoming season.
As we launch this renewal campaign, it's important to first address the financial aspects that contribute to our club's growth and sustainability but affect each individual season ticket holder.
Price increases are never popular, but they are necessary
Prices will increase across all general admission categories, but our season ticket will remain among the most affordable in London and the Premier League.
The increase amounts to an additional £2.40 per game for the most common adult ticket (Band B) and 50p per game for the most common ticket for children.
This supports the ongoing investment in the club's facilities, infrastructure and player development.
For reference, our Band B prices, which make up 57 per cent of all season tickets, are: £495 for adults, £135 for juniors and children, £375 for fans 65+ and £330 for fans 18-24. This works out at £26 per game for adults, £7 per game for juniors and children, £20 per game for fans 65+ and £17 per game for fans 18-24.
Jon Varney, Brentford chief executive, addressed the price increase: "We understand that price increases are never popular, but we believe they are necessary to support the club's growth, competitiveness and continued investment in players and infrastructure.
“Despite the price increase, we feel our commitment to offering affordable football remains. We are proud to be one of the most reasonably priced and welcoming venues to watch Premier League football in the country."
“Broadcasting revenues from the Premier League are clearly crucial for us, but to stay competitive, we need to increase our revenue across all areas.
"With the rising costs and strict financial rules from both the Premier League and UEFA, it's vital we grow our overall income.
“Every pound we generate is reinvested to make Brentford a success.”
Fair pricing with supportive measures in place
To support our fans financially, we're introducing several key initiatives.
First, we're extending our direct debit payment period from 10 to 12 months, allowing for lower, more manageable instalments.
In addition, we're guaranteeing payouts for Premier League tickets listed on the exchange at least seven days in advance of the fixture, offering additional value back to you. This means, that if you know you won’t make a game in advance, we will provide pro-rata credit into your account, regardless of whether or not your ticket sells on the ticket exchange, as long as you list a week in advance.
An auto-renewal option is also now available to simplify the renewal process for future seasons.
And for members, we have also committed to freezing our match ticket prices for the next season. For our younger fans, we're making available lower-priced junior tickets on the exchange.
Every Seat Counts policy has increased attendances
Last year, the club introduced the Every Seat Counts policy to help reduce the number of empty seats at the Gtech.
Jon Varney gave his verdict: “We're pleased with how well the new policy has been implemented, thanks to the support of our season ticket holders. We've seen a significant reduction in empty seats — about 500 fewer per match — allowing more Bees fans to get to our games than ever before.
“This season, almost 10,000 Premier League tickets have been purchased by members and season ticket holders on the ticket exchange. Season ticket holders have also benefited from over £300,000 back to them through sales on our ticket exchange.”
Policy to evolve - earlier ticket exchange deadline for next season
While season ticket occupancy is up from 89 per cent to 93 per cent as a result of the policy being introduced, these figures still mean that there are more empty seats than we want to see.
The deadline for listing on the ticket exchange will move from 10am matchday to 2pm on the day before the game.
Jon Varney explained: “Currently 35 per cent of tickets listed on the ticket exchange are listed in the last 24 hours before each game. To allow more members the time to access tickets, we need more tickets listed earlier."
We are aware that this might impact fans who have responsibilities which can impact their plans at the last minute, and we certainly won’t penalise fans in this position.

Exemptions for children and those fans with disabilities who attend with personal assistants remain in place.
New ticketing system is working
Last season, the club launched a new ticketing sales platform with Ticketmaster.
Jon Varney reflected on the change: “We have been pleased with the rollout to date. The feedback from our fan surveys show that fans are finding it easier to use the ticket exchange, which was a big factor in our decision to migrate to the new system.
“We are now working to introduce an improved dashboard to help fans manage their ticketing accounts and keep up to date with on-sale dates throughout the season.”
Three-year premium licences and season tickets up for renewal
Premium seat holders who had initially signed up for a three-year season ticket are now due to renew. They should check their emails to confirm what action is required.

Appreciation for fan consultation
In his concluding remarks, Varney expressed appreciation for the working groups from BIAS and Bees United: "Over the past three months, fans involved in our working group and Fan Advisory Board have dedicated themselves to engaging with us, generously offering their time to discuss our season ticket plans and policies.
“Their insights and robust debate have significantly shaped the plan we are announcing today. We are extremely grateful for their involvement, which has been crucial in refining and finalising our strategy for the next season."
