It was a match where the young Bees were twice pegged back but they were able to get back in front in the second half and stay there following a low effort from one of the Trialists.

Tristan lined up for 60 minutes of game time alongside Nico Jones in central defence and he will now be targeting more pre-season minutes in the coming weeks.

"It's good to be back," said Tristan. "We played a good game and got some minutes in the tank. We've had a great two weeks at the training ground and it's good to play the first game of pre-season.

Hear from Tristan following the match in Salisbury

"It's hot, but we played well and I think we had a good intensity even though it's our first game and we now have to keep working."

Tristan missed the final couple of games of the previous campaign with a small injury and headed back to France to spend time with his family in the summer to recover. Now back fully fit, he's targeting as many minutes as possible.

He continued: "I'm tired because I haven't played for a long time but it's good to be back and hopefully I can play more minutes in the next game. I went back to France and I was able to rest and spend time with family and friends which is always good."

Recently the young defender also put pen to paper on a new contract with the B Team which keeps him in West London for at least another two years. On extending his stay, Tristan said: "I'm proud because I think I am in the best place to continue to work and I'm very happy to continue with Brentford."
