Brentford FC Community Sports Trust teamed up with Pizza company PizzaSi to deliver hundreds of healthy and fresh pizzas to local residents before Christmas. The initiative saw three hundred pizzas being delivered to Brentford Towers Estate, Ivybridge Estate in Isleworth and the Stanwell area in Spelthorne. Families who benefited from the initiative usually take part in the Trust’s free weekly sports sessions. Funded by the Premier League, Hounslow Housing and BBC Children in Need, the sessions offer youngsters a safe space to enjoy sport.
Stefano Laudadio, PizzaSi Co-Founder and Head of Business Development, said: “I was sincerely touched with the different stories from each family and inspired by everyone’s smiles when receiving their pizzas. This is why we chose to do this, and it sums up the Christmas spirit.”
Prior to the global pandemic, PizzaSi were due to fundraise for the Trust’s community projects through the planned Castle to Coast Triathlon. However, when this event was cancelled, PizzaSi and the Trust created an invaluable and worthwhile alternative.
Tomas Abreu, Marketing and Partnerships Manager at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, said: “PizzaSi joined the Trust as a fundraising partner last year and this initiative seemed like the perfect way to give back to our community and participants. 2020 has been a difficult year for our communities so hopefully this Festive Feast will help raise our community spirit.”
