Brentford Football Club Community Sports Trust is delivering a national sports programme across Ealing, Hounslow and Richmond.

Kickz is a national sports and activity-based youth inclusion programme delivered by more than 40 professional football clubs nationwide.

Launched in the summer of 2006, Brentford FCCST was selected as one of four trusts to pilot the scheme.

Kickz is targeted geographically with delivery aimed at communities where young people are considered to be of greater risk in terms of being affected by crime, either as victims or potential offenders.

Through a relationship-building strategy, the project offers free regular constructive, sustained multi-sport and leisure activities delivered by professional sports coaches and youth workers.

The core programme offers a range of sports-based sessions including football, cricket, basketball and youth club activities which are free to access for young people.

Activities are delivered 48 weeks of the year with each Kickz programme delivering nine hours of local-based provision.

Education is also a key part of the project with workshops delivered on subjects such as knife crime, substance misuse and sexual health.

Young people are also able to gain sports-based qualifications through the project and are encouraged to actively volunteer on Kickz activity sessions.

The Metropolitan Police is actively involved in supporting the programme across London with Safer Neighbourhood Teams attending Kickz sessions to break down barriers with young people and help build more positive relationships.

Brentford FCCST currently delivers six Kickz programmes spanning the London Boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Richmond-upon-Thames.

These projects target Hanwell (Copley Close Estate), Northolt (Racecourse Estate), Feltham (Highfields Estate), Hounslow Central, Barnes (Castelnau) and Ham.

These projects are part-funded nationally by the Premier League Charitable Fund and Metropolitan Police as well being locally funded by a variety of key contributors
