Gordon spent ten years at Griffin Park, making his debut as a 17-year-old goalkeeper in an FA Cup tie against Margate. He made more than 200 league and cup appearances and was even selected on the bench as an outfield player during an injury crisis. Released in 1973, he was awarded a testimonial later that year. Gordon will collect his award on Sunday evening at our end of season awards dinner at Heathrow.
Attacking midfielder Sam Saunders spent nine seasons at Brentford after joining from Dagenham and Redbridge on a Bosman free transfer in 2009. He too made more than 200 league and cup appearances in his Griffin Park career, joining Wycombe Wanderers permanently in January this year. Sam will collect his award at half-time on Sunday afternoon when we take on Blackburn Rovers at Griffin Park.
The Hall of Fame will continue to induct players in the coming seasons and hope to complete the first phase of awards when the Club moves to the new Community Stadium at Lionel Road.
