Joe Adams had a fantastic evening in Gibraltar has his two goals helped Wales Under-21s on their way to an emphatic 7-0 victory. It was the biggest ever win at Under-21 level for the Welsh in their European Championship qualifier as the side moved up to fourth in their group as they claimed their second win of their qualifying campaign.

The other goals came courtesy of Owen Beck, Luke Jephcott, Dan Williams, Terry Taylor and Ryan Astley on what was a memorable night for the side. They will take that confidence back to Wales on Tuesday as they host Switzerland Under-21s at Rodney Parade in Newport.

Joe played 70 minutes whilst Nathan Shepperd was an unused substitute on the night.

Jaakko Oksanen played 65 minutes for Finland Under-21s in their 3-1 European Qualifying defeat to Norway away from home. Jørgen Strand Larsen put the Norwegians ahead on 55 minutes before he doubled their lead from the spot on 67 minutes. Anssi Suhonen halved the deficit later in the game but Johan Hove restored Norway’s two-goal lead on 89 minutes.

Finland are fourth in their group going into their next match against Estonia on Monday.

As for Scotland, Aaron Pressley was an unused substitute in their Under-21 victory over Kazakhstan in Dundee. Aaron, who earned his first Under-21 call-up during this international window, remained on the bench for the side’s 2-1 win.

Lewis Fiorini found the net on 28 minutes to put Scotland ahead before Glenn Middleton thumped home a second shortly before the hour mark. Kazakhstan found the net on 71 minutes but the side held out for the three points.

The win moves the side up to third in their group, 11 points behind leaders Belgium, who they face on Tuesday, having played two games fewer.
