It’s a big weekend for Brentford Women who play for a place in the Capital Cup final as they face Denham United Ladies in the semi-finals on Sunday at The Den in a 12 pm kick-off.
The Bees will be eager for some cup success after a solid campaign so far and will also look to rectify their 1-0 league defeat away at Denham United just last month.
Looking ahead to Sunday’s game the women’s first team’s assistant head coach Sean Hillier is excited at the prospect of his side reaching a cup final.
He said: “It’s one of the biggest games of the season and we have a good chance to get to a final which is massive, but first we need to get past Denham.
“It would be an unbelievable experience for us to win a trophy this season and I think it would be a perfect reward for how well the team has done during this campaign.”

The women’s first team’s title hopes took a knock in the previous game against Denham at the beginning of February which saw Brentford leave The Den empty handed despite being the dominant team throughout.
Hillier went on to explain how he thinks the recent defeat to Sunday’s opponents could help drive his side to victory this weekend.
“We were all very frustrated coming away from that previous game against Denham, we outplayed them at times but just couldn’t find the back of the net so I think the players will be keen to set the score on Sunday.
“I think we will be more aware of Denham this time, especially with their set pieces as this is where they caught us out in the previous match but I’m confident if we play our normal game we’ll get the win this time.

The Bees fought back from a goal down against Richmond Park Women in the quarter-finals of the Capital Cup ensuring their place in the final four of the competition last month.
A Chloe Logie double and a Sophie Troth wonder goal saw Brentford Women leave The Beveree Stadium with a convincing 3-1 victory.

Our B team have a Capital Cup semi-final game of their own in the Junior Section of the competition as they take on Tooting Bec Women on Sunday at Bedfont Sports Club in a 3pm kick-off.
The women’s side will look to extend their winning streak to five games this weekend but should expect a tough challenge as they face Tooting Bec who play in the Greater London Division One South and sit second in the league.
Similar to Hillier, B team head coach Tommy Ryan-Maynard feels Sunday’s semi-final is the biggest game yet for his side.
He said: “It’s definitely our most important game so far, everyone is really looking forward to it including myself and it would be great to reach a cup final for the second year running.
“We have been playing some brilliant football recently so I’m sure it will be important to the players to continue their winning streak on Sunday.”

Brentford Women’s B team ply their trade in the opposite half of the Greater London Women’s Football League and like Tooting Bec, they are currently positioned second in their section of the league.
With it looking like it could be a very close game between the two sides, Ryan-Maynard insists he just wants his team to concentrate on themselves.
“We played Tooting a few years ago but we expect them to have a much different team now and they are doing well in their league so we know it should be a good game.
“I’m not looking at the opposition too much though, when we play our own game we are so hard to stop and I have confidence in this team to beat anyone on their day which is what I believe we will do on the weekend.”

In the last round of the competition, the Women’s B team comfortably brushed past Civil Service Women at Bedfont Sports Club.
Despite the Bees dominating the opening 45 minutes they were forced to wait until the second half for their goals which came courtesy of Charlotte Halpin and top scorer Kasey Clifford.
