Another trophy has been added to the Brentford FC trophy cabinet after a successful trip to Eastern Europe.
Brentford’s Category Two Academy sent an Under-15 team to a tournament in Lithuania this weekend.
The Bees took part in the Sportfan competition this weekend against teams from Eastern and Northern Europe.
And they came out on top.
After successfully battling their way through the group stages on Friday, 5 June, and Saturday, they took part in the final stages yesterday, Sunday 7 June.
The Bees beat Skonto FC, from Riga, Latvia, in the last four and then defeated Vilniaus FM 2-0 in the final.
The young team flew back to England late last night with the trophy.
Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “It was a fantastic weekend.
“The boys did exceptionally well to win the tournament.
“They also managed to stay unbeaten in eight games over three days, which is a great achievement.
“These type of tournaments are great for the players, staff and the Club.
“We get to spread the name of Brentford and everyone always represents the Club well.
“When we bring home the trophy, it is even better.
“I hope these lads will become known to our fans as their careers develop.”
