Brentford B midfield player Zain Westbrooke has returned from his loan spell at non-league Leyton Orient. The 21-year-old B Team captain was with the East London side for three months. He joined them in October and his loan ran until Wednesday, 10 January. He returned to West London at the end of the loan this week.
Zain played eight games for Orient during his time in East London, including an appearance in The Emirates FA Cup against Sky Bet League One Gillingham. He started three Vanarama National League games for the East London side and made two further appearances as a substitute. His three other games came in the FA Cup. The Orient switch was Zain’s second loan of the season after spending a month with Solihull Moors.
Zain topped the B Team appearance list last season, playing 38 games and scoring six goals. So far this term he has played 13 games and scored four times. The midfield player turned professional in the summer of 2015 and made his Sky Bet Championship debut against Fulham at the end of last season. He was also named as a substitute against Ipswich Town earlier this term.
