The 21-year-old spoke to iFollow after the game to sum up his thoughts on the match and give us an idea of what to expect for the rest of the season.

"It feels good," said Zain. "Especially following up from the Man United win and the Rangers win to be fair. We know we have to keep this going, keep the high standards going. It's been three good wins in a row for us and we've conceded one, that was an own goal, so we're looking positive through that."

Confidence in the B Team dressing room seems to have reached a high point in the past few weeks, with the three wins coming in quick succession for Kevin O'Connor's side. Zain explained what he thinks is behind the trend.

"I think we all know we are improving," he said. "There is confidence in what we can do. Playing against these big teams now is probably a bit different from before where we felt like we might have had nothing to lose and we'd go out and attack. Now, I feel like we're a strong force and we can beat these teams quite comfortably."

Zain also touched upon the influence of the First Team players who drop into the B squad for game time from time to time.

"Sometimes it's quite hard when the First Team players drop down," said Zain. "The team isn't functioning as well as it usually does. Today, like they have all season to be fair, they worked hard and played with us. The communication between all the players has been very good."

With Mads Bech Sorensen away on international duty for Denmark U19, Zain has been partnering Jarvis Edobor at centre-back for Brentford B. It's been quite a learning curve for him.

"It's different," said Zain. "It's new but I feel like I have adapted well. I think because everyone in the team can play every position, because of the way we train and the way we are learning how to play, it's quite easy to go into another positon and adapt as part of the team."

Asked about the main difference between the two sides, Zain said: "I'd say we were more clinical. I wouldn't say they had many chances but they definitely had a few and if they had scored them, it definitely would have been different. I think that's where the difference was, we got our chances and we put them away. We ended up making the game quite easy for ourselves."

First Team Assistant Coaches Thomas Frank and Richard O'Kelly were watching on from the side at Jersey Road. That's something that adds another dimension for the players in the B Team.

"It was the same in the last game, where we had the Gaffer there and also a big crowd. We had quite a few people here today and it puts a bit more pressure on you to perform. I think that's what you want, to press people and show what you can do. Again, today, we proved that."

Last season, Zain made a First Team appearance towards the end of the season against Fulham and is hoping to get a similar opportunity this year.

"Any way an opportunity can come, I'd be grateful for. I think that's what we are all hoping for, we're pushing on and kicking on while everyone is knocking down the door. So hopefully chances will come.

"There's motivation to play in the First Team but there's also motivation to get yourself in the starting team for the B Team. We've got a lot of big games. We've got Anderlecht at the stadium soon, hopefully a big crowd will come to that and it's another chance to prove what we can do."
