Bryan Mbeumo hailed Brentford’s team chemistry following the 3-0 win over Southampton.
The Cameroon international assisted the Bees’ first goal in the 40th minute – his in-swinging cross met by the head of Ben Mee – and netted the second from close range four minutes later having been picked out by Yoane Wissa.
Mathias Jensen’s goal 10 minutes from time rounded off an impressive team performance.
Mbeumo underlined the importance of a strong understanding with his fellow forwards after the Bees extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to nine matches.
“I feel very good and very happy to have helped the team with a goal and an assist,” he said.
“I know that if I put the ball in the box, we have players who are great at headers in the team.
“We’ve [Mbeumo and Wissa] had a good relationship since he came.
“We try to work a lot together, with Ivan as well, to be as good as possible on the pitch.
“We try to rotate to make the opposition think and to disturb them.
“Everybody has to defend as well; we always pull back.”
