Nour Aboul Kheir has become a key part of Brentford Women’s squad since joining the club in the summer of 2023.
The midfielder describes her busy lifestyle away from the pitch where she aims to follow a routine which allows her to reach her optimal ability come matchday. Get your tickets to watch Aboul Kheir in action at the Gtech on September 28.
Aboul Kheir enjoyed a positive first campaign for Karleigh Osborne’s side last season making 20 appearances and helping the team to a cup double.
The 21-year-old, who works as a graphic designer for football agency group New Era Global Sports, explains how her week looks on and off the pitch.
She said: “I’d say I have a pretty standard work week, I work Monday to Friday in graphic design which is quite full on but enjoyable.
“There is a player management side but also a media side where we get to work with ex-players like Fara Williams and Rio Ferdinand so it’s a football-packed week.
“Within the week I have training Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, we do a lot in the gym which is really good, and I also have my own PT sessions on Thursdays just to get in some extras.”
Brentford Women has seen a large influx of new staff members in recent years as the club aims to create a professional environment which will allow the players to reach their full potential.
Aboul Kheir spoke about how the staff have helped her on and off the pitch as she enters her second season under Osborne.
“Since I joined the club last season all of the staff have been great and their experience has helped me develop as a player,” said Aboul Kheir.
“Three people in particular have really helped me, Ollie [Cottis] who is our phycologist, speaks to me once a week and helps me with my confidence, mental resilience and how I handle certain situations.”
“Our coach Kevin [Palma] does the analysis of our games and also does one-to-one sessions; he has a lot of knowledge which has helped me a lot.
“Louise [Oldfield] our sprinting coach worked with me a lot during pre-season, we did a lot of sprint sessions together and timed some of my runs.”
Aboul Kheir now works towards what is set to be her second appearance at Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday 29 September when Brentford Women welcome Clapton Community.
