Ben Mee shared his frustration after Brentford’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

The Bees battled well at Anfield against a side who came into the game on the back of five-straight victories, but ultimately went down to Mohamed Salah’s early strike.

With 13 minutes on the clock, Virgil van Dijk headed Fabinho’s lofted pass back across goal and into the path of Salah, who was on his toes to bundle home at the back post.

“We defended quite well, but the goal we conceded was disappointing,” said Mee.

“It was too easy from our point of view. We’ve got to defend balls into the box better than that.

“It’s frustrating. We gave it a good go but didn’t quite create enough to get something from the game.

“All season, we’ve given the top sides a good game. They don’t lose many games here, so we know it was going to be difficult.

"We move on and we’ve got three big games left to play and we want to go out on a high.”
