Kevin Schade praised Brentford's togetherness following the side’s 2-0 victory over Southampton.
Schade made his first start for the club as the Bees bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Everton with a win on the south coast.
“It was very good” said Schade, “After some hard training sessions, it was deserved.
“After the Everton game last weekend, it was very, very important to bounce back. And a clean sheet – we gave nothing away.
“Both teams fought hard. A clean sheet was important.
“It’s like family here. Everyone is friendly; everyone loves everyone. It’s very important for our team.”
Schade combined well with Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo in the final third, and the January signing is happy with the understanding he has developed with his fellow forwards.
“It’s great. B [Mbeumo] is fast, with a good left foot, and Ive [Toney] is unbelievable – a very good player. We link up very well.
“I play chess very often with B! I’m the better player, for sure!”
