Brentford head coach Thomas Frank expressed his disappointment at the Bees’ 4-2 defeat to West Ham United on Monday night. 

Frank admitted the west Londoners "didn't hit their level" against the Hammers, but attempted to find some positives from a poor performance at London Stadium.

“I feel terrible. My body is burning and I feel terrible, absolutely terrible,” he said. 

“Individually and collectively, we didn't hit our level today and, if you don't have the level in this league against any team, and this is a very good West Ham team, with [Jarrod] Bowen that was unplayable and Emerson deciding to put in the top corner, then it's very, very difficult to win. 

“Of course, it's very disappointing but, in every game, it's never as bad and never as good.

“It feels very bad but, when I look at it back, I'll find more positives and that’s what we’ll hang our hat on. And then we’ll try and adjust those negatives.” 

On goals from Yoane Wissa and Neal Maupay, he added: “It's a positive that they’ve scored because we know that we are normally defending better, as I've said a few times, so that is something we are highlighting massively at the training ground in the analysis.  

“But, yes, it’s good to score two goals and normally two goals should be at least a point and very close to potentially winning it.”
