Brentford forward Yoane Wissa was delighted to score in back-to-back Premier League games - but insists that this is just the start of his goalscoring exploits.
Wissa netted the first of the Bees' goals in the 3-0 west London derby win over Fulham, which was his second strike in two matches to start the 2023/24 campaign.
And the forward insists that confidence is high, for himself and the team, after a great performance and result at Craven Cottage.
“This is just the start, we’re not done," said Wissa. "I’ll enjoy things day by day - I'll enjoy this tonight and tomorrow, then I’ll get back to try and score next week.
"We’re working every day so, to get the win, away at Fulham, is very, very good.”
He added: “If you want to score, you have to miss. You have to accept that. Before I scored my goal, I missed a chance but I know I have to keep looking forward.
"I played as a striker at times last season as well so now my team-mates know me, I play with them every day in training, they know how I run. We’re just getting better and better and better.
“The confidence is high, I’m happy for the team and, of course, I’m happy for the fans today.”
After his goal, Wissa ran straight over to the bench to celebrate with his team-mates, which he says was to appreciate the whole squad's effort in the build-up to this game and throughout pre-season.
"We work as a team. I know the feeling when you’re not starting. It’s a local derby, we’re here and we’re a team," he said.
“We’ve been working every day together as a team. That’s why I’m happy and the team’s happy - that’s why I went to them.”
