Keane Lewis-Potter says it's a 'great feeling' to score his first Brentford goal, after netting in the Bees’ 3-0 win over Colchester United.
The summer signing, who made his first start at the JobServe Community Stadium, latched onto the end of a Shandon Baptiste pass, before slotting into the back of the net to score the opening goal in Essex.
And the 21-year-old says he is enjoying his time at the club, having signed from Championship side Hull City earlier in the transfer window.
The forward said: "It's a great feeling. It’s something we’ve been practising in training every day and I'm delighted to get my first goal for the club.”
He added: “It’s been a great start, making my Premier League debut against Leicester and then coming on against Fulham at the weekend.
"I'm enjoying every single minute of it and I just want to keep training hard, working hard enough, and hopefully I’ll get more chances.”
Colchester defended resolutely in the first half and, before Keane opened the scoring, Thomas Frank’s side struggled to find an opening.
Keane insists that it was a tough test against the League Two side and is grateful to have got the win to take the Bees into the third round.
“In the first half we found it difficult to break them down and we had to take our time with it. Once the goal came, it opened up a bit,” said Keane.
“Again in the second half, they put us under a lot of pressure. But I'm very thankful that we got the win.”
