Mathias Jensen spoke of his disappointment following Brentford’s 5-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League.
Bruno Guimarães scored twice to set Newcastle United on their way to a comprehensive victory at St. James’ Park.
“I’m very, very disappointed,” said the midfielder.
“We should never, ever let in five goals, no matter who we play, where we play and how bad the performance is.
“It’s a lot of individual mistakes that led to the goals, but we can’t concede five goals in the same game.
“It was tough, but we made it much tougher by making big mistakes.
“There was actually a lot of space to pass the ball. I think we gave them the win.”
With Brighton & Hove Albion our next opponents on Friday 14 October, Jensen stressed the need for a positive response.
“We win and lose as a team,” he said, “now we need to get back on track on Friday.
“This result doesn’t mean we’re bad footballers, we just need to get it out our system to be ready for the next game.”
