Pontus Jansson will return to the Brentford starting XI for the visit of Leeds United.
The Bees skipper has missed our last two games with a foot injury, but Thomas Frank has confirmed that Pontus will lead the team out at the Gtech Community Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Having featured in two games for Brentford B, Kristoffer Ajer is also in contention for Leeds’ visit to West London.
“It’s a big boost,” Thomas told the media at his pre-match press conference.
“I want my captain in, but I want to praise Zanka because he’s done a top job in there. We have some good centre-backs with some good quality.
“Kristoffer is definitely knocking on the door, literally on my office door and also on the training pitch. Hopefully I will involve him.”
Christian Nørgaard was another absentee during our midweek draw with Crystal Palace.
“Christian has an achilles problem, so he’ll be out for some weeks,” said Thomas.
“No surgery; it’ll just recover over time. He’s had issues with the achilles over a period of time and now it’s too much.”
Mikkel Damsgaard has been introduced as a second-half substitute during our last two league games. Thomas stressed that he is happy with the Denmark international’s progress, but said that he is not quite ready for a Premier League start.
“He’s getting better. Can he start and play 60? Yes, of course he can. He’s in a fine place; he’s looking sharper and sharper.
“There’s still some time before I think he is fit to go 90 non-stop at Premier League pace, but he’s come on in two games and looked good. I expect him to have a role tomorrow.”
