Rico Henry believes that we should have taken all three points from Saturday’s meeting with Everton.
Vitaly Janelt netted a late equaliser in a game that saw the Bees hit the woodwork on three occasions.
Speaking after our 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium, Rico said: “We kept believing and we kept creating chances. I knew that we’d put one in the back of the net eventually and that’s what we did thanks to Vitaly. We should have put the game to bed today but unfortunately we never.
“It was a pretty end-to-end game and there were a lot of long balls. The gaffer said before the game that we needed to drop off and pick up the second balls and I thought we did that today. We created chances and I thought we should have put more away.”
Rico created some dangerous openings down the left-hand side – teeing up Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney – and the full-back revealed his ambition to contribute more goals and assists this term.
“We want to create chances for the strikers and that’s what we did,” said Rico.
“I want to get more goals and more assists. I’m getting forward a lot, making the back stick and putting crosses in.”
