Thomas Frank was happy with his side’s "very good" performance in their 1-1 draw with Everton, and believes we should have come away with all three points.

After going 1-0 behind, the Bees went on to dominate the game at Gtech Community Stadium, hitting the woodwork three times, before Vitaly Janelt eventually found the equaliser.

And, despite coming away with just one point, Thomas says he was pleased with our display on Saturday.

“It should have been three points. It was a top performance in many, many, many ways," he said.

“I love my team, our team, I must say that, I said that to the players.

“I hope the fans are pleased. I know they want us to win, but they see a team that brings so much energy and effort into it, so much quality, so much desire, mentality.

“We went 1-0 down, okay, that happens. That’s the third time in five games that we’ve had to come from behind - I don't think any other teams have done that so far.

“Of course, I’d prefer us just to take it from the top and just win. But football is football, you concede goals, that happens.

"But, on our overall performance, we were very good offensively, we created chances, we were much stronger defensively today than we were against Fulham, we were good on defensive set pieces.

“Yes, I know we gave a goal away, but you know that can happen. But, if you look at our overall performance, it was very good.”

The game against Everton was part of a busy run of games for the Bees, which sees us travel to Crystal Palace on Tuesday.

But Thomas is confident his staff will have the squad well prepared ahead of our trip to Selhurst Park next week.

When asked about the hectic schedule, he said: "It is what it is. I have a good group of staff and we’re pretty sure of what we want to do.

“They make it not easy, but easier to make sure we manage the short turnarounds, in terms of recovery and making sure we have a gameplan on the board straight away.

"I think we are in a good place and we are looking forward to playing on Tuesday.”

The Brentford boss also said he is hopeful that his captain Pontus Jansson will be back for the trip to Palace, after missing the draw with Everton.

Thomas added: "He had a minor foot injury. Unfortunately, he couldn't make it today. We hope that he's available for Tuesday.

"If I had to guess now, I’d say yes, he’ll be back, but let's see.”
