Thomas Frank said that he was ‘lost for words’ after Brentford’s emphatic 4-0 win over Manchester United.
Goals from Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee, and Bryan Mbeumo secured the victory at the Gtech Community Stadium.
And the Bees boss said that it might take a while for the win against one of the biggest clubs in world football to sink in.
“I'm a little bit speechless and lost for words, in a way,” said Thomas.
“Because it's Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, one of the best teams still, they have top players, and we’ve just beaten them 4-0.
“And it was a fully deserved win, I don't think it was a 4-0 win, but I think it was a fully deserved win. I think I’ll understand it a bit more overnight and especially tomorrow.
“I know how good this team is and I know how good the players are so it’s not a huge surprise that we won, but 4-0 is, of course, crazy.
"It's just a privilege to be part of something when you succeed and everything is going in the right way. That's a fantastic feeling.”
And Thomas said that Brentford’s game plan was executed ‘perfectly’ after the victory that saw them climb to third in the Premier League table.
The pressing and physicality caused the Red Devils problems in the first half, while the defensively solid second-half performance secured the win.
Thomas added: “Sometimes the game plan is a little bit stop-start, but I think the game plan that we wanted to succeed with today was perfect, which doesn’t happen that often.
“I think the aggressive, high pressing that gave us two goals and caused them problems throughout was really good.
“I think the low block, that we know we can defend in, was extremely good. I think that the transitions were at a good level - the fourth goal was a fantastic goal for that.
“The decision to go a little bit more direct was a success and then we are very good at set pieces, so there are four areas where we did very well.”
