Full-back Jayden Meghoma completed a transfer from Southampton on Deadline Day of the 2024 summer transfer window.

The defender signed a four-year contract with Brentford, and the club retains an option to extend the deal by an additional two years.

“I like attacking,” he said in his first interview. “With full-backs nowadays, you're required to attack and defend; I feel like a big part of my game is going forward.

“I'm quite a versatile player, I'm fast, I'm good at dribbling, and I think my crossing is good at finding team-mates.

“Having that relationship with my winger is also a good thing that I like to have to progress up the pitch.”

Meghoma signed his first professional contract with Southampton in July 2023 and made his first-team debut the following month in a Carabao Cup defeat to Gillingham.

He made a further three appearances for the Saints last season, all in the Emirates FA Cup.

Meghoma has represented England up to under-18 level and was part of the squad that lifted the Pinatar Super Cup in Spain in March 2024.
