Ollie made his Brentford debut on the opening day of the 2017-18 season and scored his first goal three days later during an EFL Cup tie at AFC Wimbledon. He missed just one Sky Bet Championship fixture during his first season, netting 11 goals, and contributing five assists, in all competitions. Ollie began last season with three goals in three games, form which earned him a nomination for the August Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month prize. Three goals and three assists in six games in February saw Ollie receive another award nomination as he finished the season with 12 goals and nine assists in all competitions. The attacker’s appearance last Saturday against Birmingham City leaves him just six shy of the century mark in red and white.
Brentford Head Coach Thomas Frank said: “I am delighted that Ollie has signed a new deal with us. He is a key member of our attacking unit and it is great to have him here for the next few years. He has had two fantastic seasons with us, but I feel that he can perform at an even higher level. It shows the strides we are making as a club that a player of Ollie’s quality has committed his future to us. Ollie has fantastic ability, and a fantastic work rate, and I look forward to helping him develop going forward.”
Brentford FC co-Director of Football Phil Giles said: "There was some interest in Ollie during the transfer window but he is a player that we always wanted to keep with us. We agreed this deal some days ago which meant we could approach the final days of the transfer window with 100% certainty that one of our key attacking players was fully committed for the long term. I wish him well for the next few years of his career with us."
The attacker came through the ranks at Exeter City and made his professional debut on the final day of the 2013-14 season at Hartlepool United. He made three appearances the following season, scoring once, before breaking through during the 2015-16 campaign. Ollie made 22 appearances that term, scoring nine goals, winning the Football League Young Player and PFA Fans' Player awards for March plus scoring The Grecians’ Goal of the Season. The 2016-17 season was even better with Ollie appearing 52 times, scoring six goals and contributing 13 assists. He picked up another EFL League Two Player of the Month award and was awarded the EFL Young Player of the Year award.
