Brentford B have completed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Jaden Brissett on an 18-month contract, subject to clearance from the FA, after a successful trial at Griffin Park.
Norwich City agreed to terminate Jaden’s contract yesterday, Friday 25 January and today he completed a free transfer. His deal includes an optional 12-month extension that would see him through to the summer of 2021.
Starting out at his local team, Jaden was scouted by The Canaries as a youngster and joined them as an academy scholar. Originally a striker at youth level, he has adapted his game to midfield and is now capable of playing as a midfielder and attacker.
Last week he played for Lars Friis’ side in their 4-3 win over Huddersfield Town at Jersey Road, coming on for the second half, and he will travel to Portugal with the squad on Sunday.
Head Coach Friis said: “We’ve been looking at Jaden for a while and have been really impressed by his ability during his trial period. He’s a player with great potential, who can already play in a number of positions. He’s a good character, who we think will benefit our dressing room environment and suit our values. We look forward to working with him in the coming months.”
