Malmö have also reached the UEFA Europa League group stages, losing to eventual winners Chelsea in the last 32 last season.
Andreas was given a position with the Malmö first team at the end of 2017 after 12 years working in the youth set-up. He was given specific responsibility for bringing young players through to the first team. Andreas is also responsible for the Malmö Under-21 team.
Andreas said: “I have worked at Malmö FF for 14 years and have had several positions at the club: Head of Youth Scouting, Head of Methodology in the academy, Under-17 Head Coach and, for the last two years, Assistant Coach for the first team. I will finish the season with Malmo but then I am really looking forward to joining the team at Brentford in November and fighting for promotion to the Premier League over the coming years.”
Rasmus Ankersen, Brentford FC Co-Director of Football, said: “Andreas is an experienced coach who has helped Malmö to deliver impressive international results over the past few years. I am very pleased that he has accepted to join Brentford in a role that is crucial for our success."
Andreas is an experienced coach, having achieved his UEFA Pro Licence and also the UEFA Certificate in Football Management.
