The 20-year-old joined The Dons last Monday and needed just five minutes to get off the mark for his new team; angling a header back across Lee Nicholls and into the far corner. That made it 2-1 with seven minutes to play but the hosts held on to take the points at Stadium: MK and leave AFC still searching for their first victory of the campaign.

Another player making his debut for a new side on Saturday was Reece Cole. The midfielder went straight into the Partick Thistle lineup for their Scottish Challenge Cup Third Round trip to Montrose. It was Thistle who took the victory thanks to a second minute strike from Joe Cardle and Kenny Miller’s 53rd minute header. Reece’s impressive first appearance for The Jags came to an end after 77 minutes as he began life north of the border with victory.

Back in England, Canice Carroll played the opening 45 minutes as Carlisle United were beaten 3-1 at home by Sky Bet League Two leaders Exeter City. The visitors went in ahead thanks to Lee Martin’s 36th minute goal. Olufela Olomola levelled on the hour but parity lasted just six minutes as another Martin, this time Aaron, netted for Exeter. The three points were confirmed in injury time when Nicky Law beat the offside trap to score.

In the National League, Justin Shaibu played the final few minutes as Boreham Wood registered a 3-1 home win against Dover Athletic. Kabongo Tshimanga's early double set Wood on their way with Tyrone Marsh adding a third for the Hertfordshire side after the break. Victory sees Wood climb further away from the relegation spots after a slow start to the campaign.

In Denmark, Emiliano Marcondes and FC Midtjylland were without a fixture due to the international break while Ellery Balcombe will miss Viborg FF’s Danish Cup tie at FC Sønderborg tomorrow as he is on England Under-21 duty.
