Mads Roerslev Rasmussen was a half-time substitute as Denmark’s Under-21 and Hungary played out a goalless friendly draw in Aalborg. It was the hosts who had the lion’s share of the chances, but they failed to make that dominance count. The appearance was Mads’ second at Under-21 level and he will hope to win a third on Tuesday when they host Romania.
Three Brentford players were involved in the Nordic Friendship tournament on Friday. The game between Joe Adams’ Wales and Gustav Mogensen’s Denmark went to penalties after a 3-3 draw in normal time. The shootout went to sudden death with Denmark eventually prevailing 8-7 to go through to Monday’s final.
Simon Andersson’s Sweden lie in wait in that final after they too needed spot kicks to overcome Norway. Simon was given the nod in goal as the game finished goalless after 90 minutes; Sweden coming out on top 4-2 in the penalty shootout. While Sweden and Denmark do battle in the final, Joe Adams and Wales will take on Norway in the third/fourth play-off.
