Brentford will play in the upcoming Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs for a place in the Premier League. The Bees beat AFC Bournemouth yesterday to ensure they can finish no lower than sixth. A win for Watford over Millwall confirmed they will finish in the top two places, being automatically promoted to the top flight, with The Bees guaranteed to finish between third and sixth.

The win at Bournemouth yesterday - secured through a Bryan Mbeumo goal and with The Bees playing for the entire second half with ten men - extended Brentford's unbeaten run to nine. The Bees have drawn six of the nine but have lost just one in 12. They currently sit third in the table with less than two weeks of the campaign remaining.

Four other teams are battling for three other Play-Off places, but that race could end today. Reading host Swansea City this lunchtime in a game between the teams in seventh and sixth. Reading are eight points behind Swansea with both teams having three games to play. If Reading do not win, they can not claim a Play-Off place.

Reading can still catch Barnsley and, theoretically, Bournemouth. Barnsley are fifth, nine points ahead of Reading, while Bournemouth are fourth, level on points with Barnsley. Bournemouth's goal difference means their Play-Off place is just about secure, but one more point will make sure.

The dates were confirmed for the Sky Bet EFL Play-Offs earlier this month. Championship sides get the action underway on Monday 17 May with two games that evening. The Play-Off Semi-Final second legs will take place between 21-23 May, including three fixtures from the Championship and League One on Saturday 22 May. The teams in ties A and B will be confirmed at the end of the season. The Finals weekend at Wembley will take place across the May Bank Holiday, with the Championship on Saturday 29 May.
