Umbro, with over 95 years of existence in the sportswear industry, and Brentford, have been in partnership since the 2019/20 season and the new agreement will see the Manchester-based brand produce The Bees kits until the end of the 2024/25 season.
Umbro will continue to produce all on-pitch and training collections for Brentford’s management staff and playing squads as well as sportswear for The Bees supporters, management staff and players.
Brentford, who last partnered with Umbro in 1975/76, recently enjoyed their greatest achievement wearing the famous double-diamond of Umbro, gaining promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.
The initial partnership was agreed in the summer of 2019 and, following a successful relationship over the past two seasons, the two parties will continue to work together long into the future.
James Parkinson, Commercial Director said: "Our renewal with Umbro is positive news as we head into our inaugural season in the Premier League. Our fans are passionate about the brand and the exciting kits they create, this is shown by our record retail sales since 2019. It was therefore a logical decision to continue into a second term. The look and feel of kits is very close to the heart of any club, its therefore vitally important the Bees partner with a brand who continue to innovate in garment performance, sustainability, but especially to keep delivering kits that both excite our fans and inspire our players."
Sam Lucas, Director of Sports Marketing at Umbro said: “It’s fantastic to agree an extension to our positive relationship with Brentford as they enter a very exciting period in the clubs history. We hope that our collaborative approach can continue to grow and we can make more lasting memories for The Bee’s fans, starting next season in the top tier of English football.”
Today, we are also confirming that Brentford will continue into a second year with its popular Third shirt. Originally seen last year and based on the original colours of Brentford Rowing Club, the kit has proved very popular with the players and fans alike.
With a limited 2020/21 release selling-out quickly we wanted to meet demand for the design and also provide parents who have bought the shirt for their children great value, as the juniors design remains the same for this season. For Adults we have refreshed the kit with our 2021/22 partners. It will be available in-store from tomorrow, Friday 13 August, and online from Monday 16 August.
