Thomas on our latest team news
Christian Norgaard is not available. The rest who were available for the Bournemouth game are all available.
All players and staff members tested Covid negative before the game. It is maybe more important than ever that football is continuing. For a lot of people, football is a light in the dark that they can cheer on their heroes.
Thomas on a first ever major semi final
It is a massive game for us. It is somewhat unknown territory for us as we have never been in the Semi Final of one of the two cup tournaments. We are looking forward to the game. We will do our best to try and attack and take our chances against one of the top teams in the world who have top players and a top manager.
Thomas on Spurs
Tottenham are by far the favourites. Kane and Son have only scored 32 goals with 22 assists so if we can manage to keep them quiet in terms of goals or assists we are pretty far down the line in terms of making a remarkable result. It will be unbelievably difficult but we will do our best to keep them quiet.
We are coming up against a world class team but if we don’t believe in ourselves, and don’t give it a shot, there’s no point in us turning up tomorrow.
Thomas on José Mourinho
Everyone speaks about them not winning a trophy in how long, but they have the best manager to end that in José Mourinho. He has that winning formula, and they will definitely be as strong as possible. No details is too small for him so they will be well prepared for this game. He will ensure all details are analysed. He will respect us as he knows, if you want to win a trophy, everything will need to be bang on against us. Of course, if it is bang on they should win. However, football is football and that is why we know we have a chance. I admire José for his fantastic career, winning trophies at all the biggest clubs in the world but when the whistle blows, he is just another bloke standing in the other dugout against whom we are competing.
Thomas on the weekend break
We will have a tiny bit more freshness for this game than if we had only two or three days turnaround. The players want to play. They know it is a big game and they want to test themselves against the best. We will have a strong team out there tomorrow, just like we did in the last four Carabao Cup games.
Josh on our run so far
You just go into the game thinking about what you can do and having a good performance. We’ve taken confidence from beating four other Premier League teams so we should use that going into this game. It is about going out there with belief and doing what we do. Tottenham are a top team; they have top players, and they will pose a threat. We need to work hard and be humble in what we do, and I am sure we will give a good account of ourselves.
Josh on the depth in the squad
Whatever team Thomas Frank puts out, we are still putting in a performance; that shows the type of squad we have and the type of culture. Just because someone hasn’t played as many minutes it doesn’t mean they won’t come in and put in a performance. Everyone has done so well and that is a credit to the boys having the mentality to step in whenever. In a shorter season you might get injuries so having people who can step in is crucial.
Josh on his Arsenal roots
When I was younger there was a friendly rivalry. Playing against Tottenham at their stadium will always be a good experience and we are looking forward to it.
It was the right decision [to join Brentford]; I never look back and think if only I had done this differently. I am happy for all those guys [getting their chance now] and they inspire me. When they are playing, I am kicking every ball with them because we have been on similar journies. I made my decision to come and do my own thing, but I am happy for the boys who are taking the opportunities.
Josh on peaking tomorrow night
After a slow start everything is now coming into place about how we want it to be. Everything is heading in the right direction so if there’s any time we want to be on the top of our game, this is the right time.
Tomorrow night's game is live exclusively on Sky Sports Main Event. The game will not be shown on iFollow Brentford but Audio Match Passes are on sale for £2.50
