The immensely popular defender's 162nd and final Brentford appearance came at Wembley just under a fortnight ago as our dream of Premier League football was realised. A knee-injury picked up in March had threatened to end Henrik's time with the Club prematurely but he returned to play in all three Play-Off games, helping us past AFC Bournemouth in the Semi-Final and then Swansea City in the final.
With the news of his departure confirmed, Henrik had a final message for the fans who had supported him, and the team, over his four years.
A number of Henrik's teammates during his stay added their messages of best wishes and thanks when the news was confirmed.
The defender scored seven goals during his time in West London and, in 2018, became the first contracted Brentford player to appear at a World Cup Finals, playing every minute as Denmark reached the Last 16. Henrik also holds the record for most international caps won while a contracted Brentford player with 22 of his 26 international appearances coming during his time in TW8.
