Thomas Frank expects Watford to fight right to the very end as they look to plot an escape from the Premier League's relegation zone. The Bees boss was speaking on Friday as he previewed our clash with Roy Hodgson's Hornets, gave the latest Team News, and spoke about the confidence in the camp. Watch Thomas' Press Conference below.
Team News ...
Josh Dasilva will be involved in the squad which is very positive; I am very pleased for him. Fingers crossed he can stay fit and avoid strange red cards so we see more of him. My take is that a fit Josh Dasilva would have been one of our best performing players this season. It is a big player coming back to us. He is nowhere near top fit because we need to ease him into it, and it will probably take a couple of weeks before we really see the best of him.
Frank Onyeka will still be out. We hope that he will be back before the end of the season.
Pontus Jansson is ready to play again.
Our recent run ...
It is remarkable the season we are having at this moment in time. It is funny how the narrative changes quickly in football; two wins or two losses and are in a relegation battle or looking at the top ten. One of our strengths this season is that we have been focused on the next training. I said today before training that it is very important we focus on the next training, which is today, and the next game which is tomorrow. We are focusing on finishing as high as possible. That is the aim and that has been the aim the whole season. We just want to go out and play with that confidence we obviously have and with a big discipline towards our gameplan and principles. If we can play with that then, hopefully, we can top perform and get a result.
Confidence in the group ...
The sun is shining, spring is coming, and we are winning football matches. Everything is going in the right direction. It is a better feeling as a Head Coach or Manager, but you are constantly working on the next game; you want to perform, and you are a little bit worried if you can’t do it again. You need to use that confidence. I constantly speak about the attitude of being confident but humble; we need to be very confident, as the players should be, but very humble to put the hard work in every day to outrun our opponents. Hopefully we can add that together, with our unique togetherness, and put in a performance.
Watford ...
I expect them to come flying out. I watched their game against Leeds United. I think it was an extremely even game and Watford were a tiny bit better than Leeds. There was nothing in the game and Watford created some chances. I expect them to come with everything and high-intensity press us. All professional footballers want to fight to the end; they still have a chance and will go for that 100 per cent.
Planning ahead ...
It is important to try and plan the whole season for another season in the Premier League. The Premier League is a relentless league, and it can change so quickly. We like to think about the next game and finish as high as possible but, every year, we plan for the next season and have done it this year. We are working on our transfer targets.
